What Skycrest actually added, and when
Fisch's version 2.0 update, Skycrest, went live on September 5, 2026 at 17:20 UTC, adding a new floating island reachable behind the Fischfest 2 island, up a pair of waterfalls. The developers, Fisching, led by WoozyNate, followed with two hotfixes: 2.0.1 on September 7 and 2.0.2 on September 8, according to BloxGuidesGG's guide, which says its numbers were checked against the official Fisch Wiki after the second hotfix. Roblox's own store listing now shows the game as "Fisch 🍉 [SKYCREST]", which is as close to an in platform confirmation that the update is fully live, not a beta test, as a storefront label gets. The headline systems are Idol Favor, a leveling track exclusive to the island, five permanent new fishing rods, a one time Wish of the Sky that unlocks 20 previously vaulted quest rods, and three variants of a new Abaia boss fight. Some of this is time limited, tied to the ongoing Fischfest 2 event, and some of it stays in the game forever. The two get confused constantly in community posts, so the breakdown below keeps them separate. One correction up front: coverage describing this as adding "seven new rods" is counting the wrong thing. BloxGuidesGG, TreyexGaming and GameStratWiki each independently list five new permanent rods shipped with 2.0. Astraeus Serenade and the other vaulted names driving traffic are not new. They are older quest rods the developers had retired from normal play, now reachable again through the one shot Wish of the Sky, a separate system covered further down.
The five new permanent rods
Ancient Idol Rod: 80% Lure Speed, 165% Luck and infinite weight capacity, unlocked by catching five giant fish after unlocking all seven Ancient Idol charms, per AllThings.How's stat table. Breeze Caster: 40% Lure Speed, 155% Luck and 200,000 kg weight capacity, earned through Aero's questline. Players can pick the Breeze Guster harpoon instead if they would rather not fish for it. Fruitline: 100% Lure Speed, 200% Luck, infinite weight capacity and a 25% Progress Speed bonus, tied to Fruit Lover Frank's questline plus a catch from the Fruity Abaia. Frank's fruit collection quest runs on a one week timer from when you start it, so it is worth beginning close to launch rather than late. Abaia's Spite: 110% Lure Speed, 180% Luck, infinite weight capacity and 80% Resilience, crafted from the Line of the Skies plus rare materials rather than fished or bought outright. Artisan Rod: sold directly by Elder Kaito in his shop. No outlet fetched for this piece has published its stats yet. AllThings.How's own guide also lists a sixth item, Line of the Skies, as a direct reward for beating the Abaia boss, while BloxGuidesGG, TreyexGaming and GameStratWiki count only five new rods and treat Line of the Skies as the crafting material for Abaia's Spite rather than a rod of its own. The guides do not agree on which it is, so treat Line of the Skies as unresolved until you have it in hand.
Idol Favor: the level that gates almost everything on the island
Idol Favor is Skycrest's own leveling system, running from level 1 to level 100, and it controls how many Charms you can equip and how many Sky Crystals you are allowed to place. Favor comes from four sources, according to BloxGuidesGG: catching fireflies (Firefly Bait is worth 2 XP, Loopy Five 12 XP, Blue Ghost 25 XP and Gombak Bent Winged 60 XP), fishing anything already logged in the Skycrest bestiary, completing NPC quests, and equipping the Idol Taiga companion, which adds a flat 5% bonus at minimum and scales up to 25% at max level. The Crest Amulet accessory holds your Charms, and its slots do not all open at once. New slots unlock at Idol Favor levels 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 80 and 100, for nine slots total at max level. Sky Crystal placement is gated the same way: AllThings.How's guide notes the ten crystals require increasing Idol Favor, up to level 50, before the game allows the later ones to be placed.
Nine Charms, seven Ancient Idols
Seven stone Ancient Idols sit on Skycrest: Hayate, Ebisu, Fudo, Nagomi, Goriki, Shunsoku and Amanojaku. Finishing the fifth quest for a given Idol grants that Idol's Charm at its listed max bonus: Swiftness from Hayate (15% Lure Speed), Fortune from Ebisu (30% Luck), Endurance from Fudo (0.05 Control), Relaxation from Nagomi (15% Resilience), Brawn from Goriki (15,000 kg max weight), Rush from Shunsoku (15% Progress Speed) and Pester from Amanojaku (3.0 Disturbance). Two further Charms come from finishing quests across all seven Idols rather than any single one: Titanic (15% Fish Weight) unlocks after ten total quests, called the Tropical Ascension, and Flash (5% Forced Progress Speed) after fifteen, called the Raging Ascension. All nine figures above are BloxGuidesGG's reported max level values. None of the other guides fetched for this piece published the full Charm table, so there is currently only one source behind these specific numbers.
Wish of the Sky: one shot at 20 retired rods, Astraeus Serenade included
Wish of the Sky is the system behind most of the attention Skycrest has gotten, because it is the first time in months several fan favorite quest rods have been reachable at all. To open it, travel to Skycrest, find the NPC Ryusei at roughly GPS -26331, 3150, -4459, complete all five trials for any single Ancient Idol, then talk to Ryusei again and tell him you are ready. That opens the Wish of the Sky menu. Picking a rod there does not hand it to you directly. It unlocks that rod's original quest chain, which still has to be completed in full, the same as if the rod had never been vaulted. BloxGuidesGG describes this as a strict one wish per account, ever, not repeatable across future events or patches, which raises the stakes of the choice considerably. AllThings.How's own coverage of the feature does not repeat that one time framing, and its published list of eligible rods, 16 named, differs from BloxGuidesGG's count of 20. Anyone choosing a rod should confirm the current terms in the in-game menu itself before committing, since the guide sites fetched for this piece do not fully agree. Astraeus Serenade is the name driving most of the search traffic: 100% Lure Speed, 300% Luck, 0.3 Control, 20% Resilience, infinite weight capacity and 250m line distance, with a passive that adds 50% Progress Speed and a chance to fill the progress bar outright, according to AllThings.How's stat table. BloxGuidesGG separately reports its quest chain demands 50,000,000 C$ before completion, a figure no other outlet fetched for this piece confirms independently. It is not automatically the best pick. Beebom's own ranking of Wish of the Sky targets places Astraeus Serenade fourth, behind MiguRod for pure money making (427% Lure Speed, 237% Luck) and Noiseform as an all purpose option (290% Luck, infinite weight), while BloxGuidesGG's community read favors SOULREAPER or Lullaby for endgame players and MiguRod for anyone still mid progression. Nothing fetched for this piece disputes that MiguRod is a strong, arguably better, generalist choice than Astraeus Serenade.
The three Abaia hunts
Skycrest's boss, Abaia, has three separate hunt variants, and none of them spawn the way a normal Roblox boss does. The base Abaia Hunt needs Tropical Squall weather active, all ten Sky Crystals placed in Abaia's Chamber, and a fish sacrificed at the Fire of Spirits. Completing all three triggers a server wide message, "An Abaia stirs within its chamber", and starts a hunt where players need four Crest Barrier catches spread across different locations to finish it. Ancestral Abaia asks for the same steps but under the rarer Raging Squall weather instead of Tropical Squall, and BloxGuidesGG describes it as meaningfully harder than the base fight. Fruity Abaia works differently again: instead of the crystal and sacrifice combo, it triggers from sacrificing nine of the limited Fischfest island fish during Tropical Sun weather with any Squall active. The 2.0.1 hotfix on September 7 changed one detail here, letting players who had already contributed toward a Fruity Abaia trigger it without crystals placed, where the original 2.0 build required them. Two rules apply across all three variants: Sundial Totems cannot spawn any of them, and a hunt is server wide, so once anyone finishes it, it ends for every player on that server, whether they contributed or not.
What leaves September 12, and what is permanent
This is the part causing the most confusion online, because Skycrest launched inside the Fischfest 2 event window, and players are assuming the island itself is temporary. It is not. BloxGuidesGG is explicit: "Skycrest is not an event island. The only Skycrest adjacent thing that leaves on the 12th is the access route through the Fischfest island", and expects the developers to open a permanent entrance from Moosewood the same day Fischfest 2 closes. What actually leaves on September 12, 2026, when Fischfest 2 ends: Sunshells, King Crabstle hunts, the Sunshell Merchant, and the current Fischfest island access route to Skycrest. What stays permanently: the Skycrest location itself, every Idol questline, all five new rods, Requiem mastery, and the full Charms system. Fruit Lover Frank's fruit collection quest for the Fruitline rod is the one piece of permanent rod content still running on a short clock, a one week window from when it is started, so it is worth finishing before the Fischfest window closes even though the rod itself is not going anywhere.
What we still don't know
The official Fisch Wiki (fischipedia.org) and the official Fisch Trello board both blocked automated access when checked directly for this piece, so every claim above sourced to "the official wiki" is relayed through guide sites citing it, not read firsthand. Guide sites do not agree on the exact roster or count of Wish of the Sky rods, 16 named versus 20, or on whether the one wish per account rule is as strict and permanent as BloxGuidesGG describes it. Neither is resolved here. The Astraeus Serenade quest's reported 50,000,000 C$ cost comes from a single outlet. And whether Line of the Skies is a sixth new rod or purely crafting material for Abaia's Spite is a plain factual question nobody fetched for this piece has answered the same way twice. Confirm all of the above in the in-game menus before making an irreversible choice like Wish of the Sky.
