What Do Index Tokens Do in Pet Simulator 99
Index Tokens are earned by adding a pet you have never owned before to your Index, 1 token for a normal pet, 5 for a Huge and 10 for a Titanic, and they unlock rewards from the Index Machine. You need to reach Rebirth 3 in Area 75 before the Index starts handing out tokens at all.

How you actually earn tokens
Only pets that are new to your Index count, a duplicate of a pet you already own gives nothing. Each color variant, Gold, Shiny and Rainbow, counts as its own separate entry, so hatching a variant you have not logged yet still earns tokens. Hoverboards, enchants and booths do not count toward Index Tokens at all, only pets do.
Unlocking the Index
The Index Machine sits just to the left of Spawn in Area 1, near Social and Group Rewards. It will not give you tokens until you hit Rebirth 3 in Area 75, so new players will not see this system open up right away.
How to farm tokens efficiently
Once unlocked, hatch a spread of different eggs instead of grinding one egg for duplicates, since only new pets add tokens. Huge and Titanic pets are worth chasing for the Index alone, a single new Titanic is worth 10 normal pet entries.
