The Rooms is gone, The Archives is in

The Archives replaced The Rooms as The Hotel's subfloor on August 28, 2026. Instead of the old office rooms, it's now built around roughly 1,300 rooms organized into lettered sectors, filled with archival clutter like vending machines, printers and fish tanks. The Stairwell, a separate new subfloor, was added off The Mines in the same update.

Nine new entities

The update added Honcho, who runs a box sorting boss sequence, Drone, an aggressive shadow figure, Forget-Me-Not, a flower tied to a puzzle, the Teller, a ticket dispatcher, plus Alma, Noise, Stem, Creak and Portrait. Our entity pages cover the ones with confirmed survival mechanics so far, Honcho and Drone.

What changed for old entities

Three legacy entities got reworked instead of replaced. A-60 is now called Bash and burns you over time instead of an instant kill. A-90 is now Ransom and demands payment instead of an instant kill. Scribbles was fully rebuilt. Vitamins were also reworked, with a longer duration and five uses per pickup instead of the old system.
