How to Play Dress to Impress: Beginner's Guide

In Dress to Impress you join a server, get a themed prompt, and have about 6 minutes to build an outfit using up to 18 clothing pieces before walking the runway, where other players rate your look from 1 to 5 stars. There are three ways to play it: ranked rounds against the room, duo rounds with a partner, and a freeplay mode with no timer or voting at all.

Joining a round

Dress to Impress is a Roblox game released on November 11, 2023 by the Dress To Impress Group. Search for it in the Roblox app, hit Play, and you're placed into a live server with other players. A theme appears on screen as soon as the dressing phase begins, and it changes every round, so you'll rarely see the same one twice in a row.

Building your outfit

You can wear up to 18 articles of clothing at once, on top of adjustable makeup, skin tone, nail color and accessory colors. Browse by category, hair, tops, bottoms, shoes, accessories, rather than scrolling one long combined list, it's faster once you know where each type lives.

The three modes

Competitive rounds are the main mode, everyone dresses to the same theme and gets voted on. Duo mode pairs you with another player for a shared theme and a synced runway walk. Freeplay mode drops the timer and the voting entirely, so it's the best place to test outfit ideas or just explore items without any pressure.

What you're judged on

After the dressing phase ends, everyone walks the runway in turn and the rest of the server rates that look from 1 to 5 stars. The top 3 scores in the round get shown on a podium. Those stars add up over time into your lifetime total, which is what decides your rank.
