How to Play Forsaken: A Beginner's Guide
In Forsaken, Survivors repair generators to power the exit gates and escape, while the one player who is the Killer tries to eliminate the team before the timer runs out. Matches hold up to nine players: one Killer and up to eight Survivors.

The objective, in one line
Every public match runs the same setup. Up to eight Survivors spread out and repair generators scattered around the map. Once enough generators are done, the exit gates power up, and Survivors need to reach one and hold the interact button to escape. The Killer's only job is to stop that by hunting Survivors down before the timer hits zero.
How Survivors actually stay hidden
Forsaken skips two things Dead by Daylight players expect: there are no scratch marks and no lockers. Instead you track a Killer by their vision cone, a red stain that shows roughly where they're looking, and by sound, footsteps, breathing and the noise of a generator being repaired nearby. Breaking line of sight behind a solid wall or a corner is what actually loses a Killer, not hiding in a box.
The mistakes new players make
Sprinting the second you spot a Killer burns stamina you'll need later, so save it for when you actually need distance. Repairing alone is slower than repairing with a teammate, which gives a speed bonus, so group up on generators when you can. And expect your first run of matches to be rough. Experienced players already know every map's loops and generator spots, so losing early isn't a sign you're bad at the game.
