Murder Mystery 2 Roles Explained: Innocent, Sheriff and Murderer
Each round hands you one of three roles at random. Innocents just need to survive, the Sheriff is the only player with a gun and has to find the Murderer, and the Murderer has to kill everyone before time runs out. A full round holds up to 12 players: 1 Murderer, 1 Sheriff and up to 10 Innocents.

Innocent: survive and watch
As an Innocent you have no weapon, so your only job is to stay alive and help the Sheriff work out who the Murderer is. Stick near other players, since the Murderer usually goes after anyone caught alone. If you spot a body or a dropped knife, tell the group instead of investigating on your own.
Sheriff: play detective, not shooter
The Sheriff spawns with the only gun in the round, but one wrong shot on an Innocent loses the round instantly. Watch behavior instead of chasing kills: purposeful movement, players splitting off from the group, and sudden direction changes are the tells worth waiting for before you commit to firing.
Murderer: blend in and pick your moment
The Murderer wins by killing everyone before the timer ends, using a knife that stabs up close or throws at range. Staying hidden matters more than being aggressive early. Avoid following one player too closely, and save throws for moments when a group is not watching so nobody sees where the knife came from.
