GTA 6 editions, price and pre-order bonuses: what you actually get
GTA 6 has two editions: Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99, both confirmed by Rockstar on June 24, 2026. Anyone who pre-orders either edition before November 20, 2026 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack for free, but a specific list of vehicles, weapons, shops and missions is locked to the $99.99 Ultimate Edition, and the free month of GTA+ that comes with pre-ordering has its own separate rules.

What GTA 6 actually costs
Grand Theft Auto 6 has two editions. The Standard Edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition is $99.99. Rockstar confirmed both prices on June 24, 2026, the day before pre-orders opened on June 25. There is no separate collector's edition and no third pricing tier: it is Standard, Ultimate, or an upgrade from one to the other. Pre-order either edition before November 20, 2026, one day after the November 19 launch, and you get the Vintage Vice City Pack for free regardless of which one you bought. Miss that window and the pack is gone; Rockstar hasn't said whether it will ever come back as paid content.
The Vintage Vice City Pack, free on either edition
The Vintage Vice City Pack is the same bonus whether you pay $79.99 or $99.99, and both digital and physical pre-orders qualify for it. Rockstar's own description lists a 1955 Vapid Stanier and a garage to keep it in, two outfits each for Jason and Lucia (a linen suit for Jason, a red sequin mini dress for Lucia, per TheSixthAxis's early hands-on coverage), and a tropical weapon pattern the studio has explicitly tied to Tommy Vercetti, the protagonist of the original Vice City. None of that touches the story or the map. It is cosmetic and vehicle content stacked on top of whichever edition you already bought, which is the whole point of a pre-order bonus: it rewards buying early without changing what the base game actually is.
What's exclusive to the $99.99 Ultimate Edition
The extra $20 for Ultimate is not a discount code or a currency bundle, it is a specific list of things Standard Edition owners do not get unless they upgrade. Rockstar's own PlayStation Store listing for the Ultimate Edition Upgrade includes a 1995 Grotti Cheetah, a modified Vapid Ganado pickup truck, a motorcycle and kayak at Jason's safehouse, a 1967 Vapid Dominator Buggy with its own garage, and a Shitzu Squalo boat. On the weapons side it adds a pair of Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers styled for Jason and Lucia plus personalized skins for their default sidearms, along with exclusive outfits, hairstyles and tattoos. The part that's easy to miss: five locations are locked behind Ultimate specifically and are not available to Standard Edition owners at all. Two are vehicle customization shops, Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's mod shop; the other three are Sara's Unisex Salon, the Stock 305 clothing store, and Electric Fang Tattoo, which TheSixthAxis reports carries more than 50 exclusive designs. Ultimate also adds two extra activities on top of the story: a raid on the PTT Youngins Compound, and a Classic Car Collection commission. Rockstar has said this content unlocks progressively as you play through Jason and Lucia's story rather than all at once, but hasn't published which chapter unlocks which item.
You can buy the upgrade later, you don't have to decide now
If $99.99 is a stretch at launch, Rockstar has confirmed the Ultimate Edition Upgrade will be sold separately at any time through the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store for the $20 difference between the two editions. That means buying Standard now and upgrading in December, or next year, gets the same Ultimate content as someone who paid $99.99 on day one. There's no early adopter penalty for taking longer to decide.
Physical copies are Standard Edition only, and there's no disc
Retailers are only carrying a physical Standard Edition. Best Buy's own product Q&A confirms there is no physical Ultimate Edition at all: buy the boxed Standard copy, then purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade digitally afterward if you want that content. The box itself does not contain a disc either way. Rockstar told Push Square directly: "Physical copies of GTAVI will contain a code that can be redeemed for the digital download of the game. A disc will not be included in the box." You get a case and a one-time code, then download the full game from PlayStation Network or Xbox's servers after redeeming it. Physical copies are available from November 12, 2026, the same day preloading opens, so redeeming the code early still gets you playing at midnight on the 19th instead of starting a 150GB-plus download from scratch.
The free GTA+ month has its own separate rules
Pre-ordering also comes with one free month of GTA+, Rockstar's existing subscription service, but this bonus is not identical to the Vintage Vice City Pack. PlayStation's official offer terms restrict it to players who purchase the digital version of either edition before November 20, 2026; the terms specifically name "the digital version," so a boxed copy on its own doesn't trigger it. The rest of the fine print: it can be claimed through March 31, 2027, works once per account no matter how many copies you buy, and is available to new, lapsed and existing GTA+ subscribers alike, an exception to GTA+'s normal no-stacking rule. It is not available in Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russia or Taiwan. After the free month runs out, it automatically converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel it first.
What we still don't know
Rockstar hasn't published a schedule for exactly which Ultimate Edition items unlock in which chapter, only that they arrive progressively through the story. There is no collector's or physical Ultimate Edition, and nothing has been said about whether one might follow later. And while the November 20 pre-order deadline is fixed for now, Rockstar hasn't said what would happen to it if the November 19 release date itself ever moved; every signal so far, covered in our release date guide, says it's holding, but that guide and this one will both get updated if that changes.

Do I need the Ultimate Edition to get the Vintage Vice City Pack?
No. It's free on both editions, digital or physical, as long as you pre-order before November 20, 2026.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Ultimate after buying the game?
Yes. Rockstar has confirmed the Ultimate Edition Upgrade is sold separately at any time through the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store for the $20 difference between the two editions.
Does buying GTA 6 physically get me the free month of GTA+?
