Every vehicle spotted in the GTA 6 Extended Look

Rockstar's GTA VI: An Extended Look, released August 27, 2026, did not come with a vehicle list. Outlets built one by watching the footage frame by frame: Jason's own red convertible, nicknamed the Sentinel, a black Schafter sedan used in a bank robbery getaway, a street race lineup running from a Nissan Skyline analog to a Ferrari SF90 lookalike, and dozens of background cars, plus a Rolls-Royce Cullinan in an airport scene and a Bugatti Chiron at a party. Rockstar has never published an official vehicle count or list. Everything below is sourced to outlets that identified it directly from the footage.

Published Sep 9, 2026.

How solid is this? Confirmed by the publisher or an official channel.

Jason's own car, the Sentinel

The clearest recurring vehicle in the reveal is Jason's personal car, a red convertible Rockstar names the Sentinel in game, per Jalopnik's frame by frame breakdown, published August 28, 2026 by Chris Tsui. Jalopnik and HotCars both read its boxy proportions and folding top as a nod to the 1980s BMW E30 3 Series. HotCars' ranked list of the reveal's best vehicles, byline Hank O'Hop, published August 28, 2026, placed the Sentinel seventh of eight, writing that "its boxy dimensions are unforgettable, and while it may not be the fastest car in the game, the nostalgia is more than enough." Engadget's Jessica Conditt, in a same day recap published August 27, 2026, ties the car to a specific beat: Jason and Lucia driving away from a job "while Depeche Mode plays on the radio."

The bank job getaway and the police chase

The reveal's police chase sequence runs through a black sedan Jalopnik identifies as a Schafter, the nameplate Rockstar has used since GTA IV, styled here after a W212 generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class. HotCars' ranked list places the same chase at number four, describing "an older E-Class" that gets "disposed of following the chase." Both outlets agree the standard police car has moved away from the Ford Crown Victoria style cruiser GTA 5 used, toward a Dodge Charger analog. Engadget's Conditt reports Jason firing an automatic rifle out of a moving car's back window during the same pursuit, "taking out helicopters and cop cars," before the pair torch the original vehicle and switch to a van to break off the chase entirely.

A second chase car with a GTA Online pedigree

Further back in general traffic, HotCars' O'Hop identifies a Dodge Challenger analog at number six on his ranked list as "the Bravado Gauntlet Hellfire, which debuted in Grand Theft Auto Online," meaning at least one named GTA Online vehicle model appears to be carrying over into GTA 6. That is one outlet's identification from footage, not a Rockstar confirmation that returning vehicles are a broader pattern, so treat it as a single data point rather than a trend.

Street racing and the closing car meet

A nighttime street race sequence draws the most attention from car enthusiast outlets, and it is also where they disagree. Jalopnik identifies a heavily modified Japanese coupe in the race as an R32 generation Nissan Skyline GT-R. HotCars' separate culture piece, published the same day, calls the same car an R34 generation Skyline. Neither outlet published a side by side comparison to settle it, so we are flagging the disagreement rather than picking a side. The same race sequence includes lookalikes of a Porsche Cayman, a Lamborghini Diablo and a Ferrari SF90, per Jalopnik, while a separate closed circuit racing scene features a BMW 6 Series analog racing against Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger and Ford Mustang style competitors, corroborated independently by HotCars, who ranked the BMW third overall. Jalopnik's breakdown also notes a second, newer Schafter with a pre-facelift W213 E-Class style front end, alongside a BMW coupe blending 4 Series and 2 Series styling, both appearing in a closing car meet montage.

What's rolling through the background

Jalopnik's table of general Vice City traffic runs long: lookalikes of a previous generation Dodge Challenger, a Dodge Charger, an Audi TT, a Ram 1500, a tenth generation Honda Accord, a convertible Chevrolet Camaro, a new generation Range Rover, a Chevy Suburban, a Toyota RAV4, a third generation BMW X5, a high performance Cadillac sedan and a large Lincoln SUV. A purple C7 generation Corvette and an Audi A4 both appear in night driving shots, and a lifted Ford F-150 style pickup passes a jogger on a Vice City street, engine note included. HotCars' ranked list adds two more with specific scene context: a white C8 generation Corvette analog "tearing by" at the very end of the police getaway sequence, ranked first overall, and a Lamborghini analog shown hooked up to a tow truck mid scene, described as having just been repossessed, ranked second. The Chevelle era muscle car that opens this list, a red two door coupe with what HotCars calls "body lines clearly inspired by a '70-'73 Chevelle" and a first generation Monte Carlo front end, rounds out the ranking at eighth.

An airport escort and a party scene

Away from street driving, Jalopnik logs a black Rolls-Royce Cullinan lookalike used in an airport security escort mission, and a Bugatti Chiron lookalike parked in the background of a party scene while a partygoer films it on their phone. Neither vehicle is tied to a mission objective in the outlet's description, they read as scenery establishing that Leonida has money in it, the same role expensive cars played in background shots of Los Santos.

Off-road, water and two wheels

Away from cars, HotCars' culture piece describes a group of dirt bike riders "attacking a rough trail through Leonida's countryside" during an off-road racing sequence. On the water, Engadget's Conditt reports "Jason and Lucia ride a fan boat" during a leisure focused montage elsewhere in the footage. Rockstar has not detailed boat, aircraft or motorcycle rosters beyond what appears in this handful of shots.

Vehicle customization: two shops, both Ultimate Edition only

GTA 6 has two named vehicle modification shops, and both are gated the same way the character customization shops are. Rideout Customs sits in Crosstown, Vice City, according to GTA Wiki, which cites the official GTA VI website's own description: "Transform vanilla vehicles into magnificent works of art with detailed interiors, exquisite rims, and donk stylings." The wiki also notes cars modified there often carry a "#rideoutcustoms" sticker on the windshield. One-Eyed Willie's, in Lake Leonida, "specializes in off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive artistry," per Shacknews' June 24, 2026 breakdown of Rockstar's pre-order material. Both shops carry the same line as the character customization shops: "Only open for business with the Ultimate Edition," excluded from the $79.99 Standard Edition. This detail comes from Rockstar's June pre-order rollout, not the Extended Look itself, which showed driving and car culture but did not walk through either shop on screen.

What Rockstar still hasn't confirmed

There is no official Rockstar vehicle count. TopSpeed's August 27, 2026 piece states "over 230 vehicles confirmed for GTA 6 across all classes," but that figure is the outlet's own tally from trailers and screenshots, not a number Rockstar has published; treat it as an estimate, not a spec. Beyond the Sentinel, the Schafter and the Bravado Gauntlet Hellfire callback, almost none of the vehicles above have a confirmed in-game name, only a real-world analog identified by an outlet. Jalopnik and HotCars disagree on the generation of the Skyline shown in the street race, R32 versus R34, and neither has published anything to settle it. Rockstar has not detailed a handling model specification beyond what outlets can infer from watching footage, and neither Rideout Customs nor One-Eyed Willie's has a published parts catalogue: no confirmed list of paint options, rims, engine tiers or off-road kits for either shop.

Where the real data goes when it lands

Rockstar has confirmed a November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. Our GTA 6 vehicle database is built and waiting for that day: sortable by class, top speed, acceleration, handling and price, currently listing sixteen vehicle classes with no entries yet because Rockstar has not published the stats to fill it. Our broader vehicles guide covers what we know heading into launch. Both get the real numbers the moment Rockstar or a verified data mine provides them, not before.

What car does Jason drive in the GTA 6 Extended Look?

A red convertible outlets have identified in game as the Sentinel, styled after the 1980s BMW E30 3 Series, shown in a scene with Depeche Mode playing on the radio.

Are the vehicle customization shops in GTA 6 free to use?

No. Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's are both confirmed exclusive to the $99.99 Ultimate Edition and are not included with the $79.99 Standard Edition.

Is the Nissan Skyline in the GTA 6 trailer an R32 or an R34?

Unclear. Jalopnik identifies it as an R32 generation Skyline GT-R, while HotCars calls the same car an R34. Neither outlet has published anything to settle the disagreement.
