Getting into ranked
You need to be level 15 to queue for ranked at all, the same level guides say unlocks code redemption. Once unlocked, walk through the red archway labelled Ranked in the main lobby to find four separate rooms for 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and 6v6 matches. Every rule of normal play carries over into ranked, only the team size changes between rooms.
The five rank tiers
TheGamer's ranked mode breakdown lists five tiers in order: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Pro. You climb by earning ELO from wins, and importantly, a win pays the same ELO no matter which tier you're currently in, so there's no bonus for grinding lower ranked lobbies.
Practice unranked first
Because ranked drops you straight into competitive 2v2 through 6v6 lobbies, guides recommend getting comfortable with bumping, setting and spiking in regular matches before queueing. A shaky first touch costs your team more in a tight ranked rally than it does in a casual game.
