Memoria Shards reroll the trait on a Memoria, the separate support items that boost your units in battle. You only need one shard per reroll no matter the Memoria's rarity, and codes are one of the fastest ways to stack up a pile of them for free.

Memoria are not your units
Memoria are their own item type in Anime Vanguards, separate from the units you place on the map. They carry Traits, the same kind of powerful stat modifiers units can roll, and equipping a strong Memoria can meaningfully boost whatever unit it is attached to. Memoria Shards exist purely to reroll a Memoria's trait.
Where shards come from
Regular Challenges hand out 1 shard, Daily Challenges give 3, and Weekly Challenges pay out 20, all repeatable. On top of that, clearing Floor 20 of Worldlines mode gives 30 shards and Floor 45 gives 50, though both are one time per update cycle. Event coin exchanges convert at 1 shard per coin, and special event shops sell up to 200 shards for 1,500 event currency each. Official Discord codes have also handed out 50 to 100 shards at a time.
Spend them or stockpile them
Since a reroll only costs one shard regardless of rarity, there is little reason to hoard a huge pile. Reroll your best Memoria first, since a strong trait there has the biggest impact on your top unit, then work down the list as your shard count builds back up from challenges.
