Leonida and Vice City
GTA 6 returns to Vice City, now the beating heart of the wider state of Leonida, Rockstar's version of present-day Florida. Trailers show neon beaches and nightlife, swamps and keys, highways, and dense city blocks.
This is the first mainline GTA set in a full US state rather than a single city and its outskirts, which is a big part of why fans expect it to feel so much larger than GTA 5.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
Rockstar has not given an official size. The best estimates come from the GTA VI Community Mapping Project, where fans have been piecing the world together since 2022 using trailer coordinates and leaked footage.
Those estimates put Leonida at roughly 1.5 to 2 times the size of GTA 5's map, with some pushing as high as 2.5 times. Treat any exact number as a fan estimate, not a confirmed figure.
