The release date, and why it is finally solid

GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026. After the game slipped from its original 2025 window, this date has held, and the signals now point to it sticking.

The strongest one: Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick has publicly said he does not expect any further delays, the clearest statement yet that Rockstar is holding the ship date. Pre-orders going live in June 2026 (more on that below) is another sign, since studios do not usually open pre-orders on a date they still expect to move.

Which consoles, and why no PC at launch

On day one, GTA 6 is on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S only. It is not coming to PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch, those are last-generation machines and the game is built for current-gen hardware.

There is no PC version at launch, and Rockstar has not announced one. If you only have a PC, you cannot play GTA 6 on November 19.

If you are buying a console for GTA 6, any PS5 (including the Digital and Pro models) or any Xbox Series X or S will run it. You do not need the most expensive model.

Editions and price

There are just two editions, no separate collector's or special edition. The Standard Edition is $79.99 and gives you the full base game. The Ultimate Edition is $99.99 and adds bonus content on top, such as extra in-game items and currency.

Unless you specifically want the Ultimate extras, the Standard Edition is all you need to play the whole game.

Pre-orders and the Vintage Vice City Pack

Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 across the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and participating retailers.

Everyone who pre-orders before November 20, 2026 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, a set of in-game bonus items, no matter which edition they choose. There is rarely a reason to rush a digital pre-order for a game this big, it will not sell out, so you can wait, compare the editions, and still grab the bonus any time before launch.

When is the GTA 6 PC version?

This is the biggest open question for PC players, and the honest answer is: unknown. Rockstar has not announced a GTA 6 PC release, price, or system requirements.

Based on history, GTA 5 came to PC about 18 months after its console launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar path. So a PC version in 2027 or 2028 is widely expected, but that is a prediction, not a fact. Anyone showing you exact GTA 6 PC system requirements right now is guessing. We will update this page the moment Rockstar makes it official.

How to be ready for launch day

Pre-order digitally so the game pre-loads and is playable at unlock, decide between Standard and Ultimate before you buy, and make sure your console has enough free storage (expect a very large install).
