GTA 6 is expected to have an online multiplayer mode, the successor to GTA Online, but Rockstar has shared very little about it. Expect the online side to grow after launch rather than arrive fully-featured on day one, and do not expect your current GTA Online progress to carry over.

There will be an online mode
GTA Online was one of the most successful parts of GTA 5, so a follow-up for GTA 6 is expected. Rockstar has confirmed multiplayer ambitions for the game, but the detailed reveal of the online mode has not happened yet.
What is confirmed vs unknown
Unknown right now: whether the full online mode is ready at launch or rolls out afterward, how it is structured, what activities it includes, and its monetization. Based on how GTA Online launched (a couple of weeks after the single-player game, then years of updates), expect GTA 6's online to expand over time.
