A bigger, denser world
GTA 5 gave you Los Santos and Blaine County. GTA 6 gives you the entire state of Leonida, with Vice City at its heart. Fan estimates put the map at roughly twice the size, and the trailers show a noticeably denser, more detailed world.
Two leads instead of three
GTA 5 had three separate protagonists you switched between. GTA 6 focuses on two, Jason and Lucia, a criminal couple whose story is intertwined. It is a more personal, focused setup, and Lucia is the series' first female lead.
Setting and era
GTA 5 was a satirical modern Los Angeles. GTA 6 heads back to Vice City, Rockstar's Miami, in a present-day Florida full of beaches, nightlife, swamps and social-media culture.
Graphics and simulation
GTA 6 is built only for current-gen consoles, so it can push far more detail than GTA 5, which launched on the PS3 generation. Expect denser crowds, better lighting and weather, and deeper systems (the community has already spotted things like a fitness mechanic and dynamic hair).
